Sorry I missed last week, before I knew it was already Sunday. This week is due to the fact that I have been feeling overwhelmed by the responsibilities of a mother and how much I love my kids. Tell me about the birth or adoption of your first child.
Caleb was born on 11/25 at around 2or 3 if memory serves me correct. We were being induced so I went to the hospital early in the morning. After all the paperwork and getting settled in my room wearing the lovely backless gown they started me on pitocin. I was already about 3 cm dilated when I went in and I wasn't really having any super strong contractions. I knew I was going to get an epidural so they started the fluids not long after arriving. What I did not realize was that when the Doctor came in to brak my bag of water. That I should have had the epidural before she broke the bag. What a shock to go from almost nothing to holy cowget the drugs on board. AFter the epidural I felt wonderful. We watched the movie Willow while we waited for something to happen. Now I have to digress for a moment and tell you that when you get an epidural and our numb, you can't get out of the bed to go to the bathroom. So either they put in a cath or change your sheets if you go to the potty. Now you are supposed to be numb that you aren't really aware of the urge to go to the bathroom. They say the percentage of women who can is very small. Well guess who not only had to pee but also had to go number two. (Hey I am being real here) So after arguing with the nurse that I di dhave to go and was not keen on taking the chance of going in my bed. I was forced to use a bed pan. Let me just tel;l you that at that moment All romance let that room. Her we are not even married a year and my poor husband is assisting lifting my ever so petite:) rear on to a bed pan. There is no dignigty in labor so you mind as well get over it. Any way back on track we were moving along and the nurse or Dr. would come to check me once in awhile. At last check I was about 6cm and the nurse said she would let me rest and if I felt the urge to push to call. Well like all of my following pregnancies, five minutes after she left I needed to push. She came back with severe doubts, but checked me anyway. To her surprise we were at 10 and Caleb was on his way. I can not begin to describe how wonderful it felt to watch our son be born into this world. I cried I laughed and I pushed. And what a blessing to hold him in my arms. He was born at 38 weeks and weighed 8lbs 6 oz. WE were so in awe and so in love. It was great because both my mom and dad were there to see thier first grandchild. It is a moment I will treasure forever. So share your story and sign in at Mr. Linky
