The Pod is back

This may have been one of the greatest boxes to open since Christmas. While the outside doesn't look very exciting what it held inside was making my heart beat faster. For those of you who do not know I am diabetic and have been for almost 20 years. I have done the traditional shots since diagnosis until July of 08 when I found the Omnipod. An insulin pump that does not have tubing and a catheter like connection. Most of my life the diabetes has dictated when and what I did to a certain extent. With the pod I felt like I had all of this new found freedom. Now let me tell you pumps have been around for awhile, but unless you had horrible control over your diabetes(which I did not) it was hard to get insurance to cover the expenses. Now things are better. Anyway, due to a change in jobs for my husband and new yearly insurance deductibles I had to stop using the pod and go back to the traditional way of managing my diabetes. But, now we are back on track and besides me stalking the neighborhood UPS driver in search of my package I will say that all is about to get better. If you are not diabetic this may be hard to understand, but it really has changed my life. I was so devastated that I would have to stop the pod for two and a half months that I cried when I had to remove the last pod. But, those days are all behind me:) The box came this afternoon and within 10 mins of it's arrival I had it on.
