Oliver woke up at 1:30 am to inform us that Santa had already consumed all the snacks and filled his stocking. We then told him it was too early to wake up where he promptly crawled into bed with us and fell back asleep.
Thomas was next to wake a t 5 am he luckily went to Nana's room where he watched all the Christmas cartoons he could find.
Caleb woke up at 5:30 and finally by 6am the boys had convinced Sarah that it was time to get up and open presents.
First, we opened stockings, in our house that is Santa's job, then we did gift's from Mom, Dad and Nana. While i still probably did more than I should of I really enjoyed the scaled down approach we had to Christmas morning. The great thing was the kids had so much fun and really enjoyed the gifts.
So by 6:44am the gifts were opened and the once clean living room was covered with wrapping paper, cardboard and those horrible twisty ties. While the adults got a small snack and started cooking the kids got to the task of playing.
At 10 am our families arrived to enjoy scones and cream, egg and sausage casserole, party potaotes, fruit galore, biscuits, bacon, cranberries, apple pie, pecan pie, cranberry cheesecake just to name a few. What a joy to celebrate with the ones we love.
The rest was a lazy day of eating and playing. I fell asleep on the couch to the blissful sound of my kids playing with each other and loving every minute.
I pray that your Christmas was full of love and the TRUE spirit of Christmas.
(oh and William felt the baby move too.)
